Srinagar, January 17 (KNO) : Welcoming the release of Muslim League, chief Mushtaq ul Islam, from imprisonment, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Thursday stressed upon immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners languishing in different jails of the state or outside it. The party spokesperson said in a statement issued to KNO that “Kashmir dispute cannot be resolved by jailing our leaders but it needs concrete political measures to ensure long lasting peace in the region.” “New Delhi and its local supporters already know that jailing resistance leaders has only yielded nothing and has strengthened the political beliefs of the resistance leaders. So it is high time for India to accept and acknowledge the basic and historical facts of Kashmir dispute so that it is resolved according to the wishes of the people,” he said. The JKDFP Spokesperson hailed the steadfastness and firm political belief of incarcerated resistance leader and JKDFP Chairman, Shabir Shah and said that all the political prisoners are going through toughest times but their courage is as high as the mighty Himalayas. He paid tributes to former People’s League leader, Abdul Salam Rajpori who breathed his last a couple of days before. The delegation also visited the residence of the deceased soul and hailed his contribution in the ongoing resistance struggle.
